I’ve written about alternatives to Adobe Acrobat for PDF creation before, and wanted to add these resources: Google Docs and Doc2PDF.
Google Docs is a free online word processor that allows you to input your existing .doc files (up to 500KB limit) and includes a PDF export facility.
PDF Online is an online converter that will take .doc files up to 2MB, and email you a PDF.
Both worked better in keeping our format true to the original than Doc2PDF.net, but your needs may differ, so I’ve included them for your consideration.

You can convert 5 files for free at Acrobat and save them right to your computer… no strings. I’ve used it.

Hi Barbara
Here is a great tip:
The easiest way to create a PDF for free is to use
http://www.openoffice.org
It is open source competitor to M$ office. You can open and edit existing word documents then once you have saved your work you can click the save as PDF button to quickly generate a PDF.
