This week I am meeting in a secret location (ha! ha!) with a mastermind group that I’ve been in for more than eleven years. Today the topic of Dropbox came up, and we all agreed on what a great, free tool it is.
Dropbox is a simple-to-use file synchronization utility that uses “cloud” storage to sync files across multiple computers, whether they are Mac, Linux or Windows based. In fact, not only can you access your private or shared files from any computer where you’ve installed the Dropbox utility, you can also access them via a browser from any computer at all.
Some handy uses of Dropbox include password synchronization with password tools such as Roboform, 1Password or KeePass. Or as storage for portable apps, instead of putting them on a thumb drive.

Absoultely fantastic utility that holds huge amounts of data – we use it as a school resource to share photo albums with parents at full spec (no-one else can get the link unless its sent to them). Combine Dropbox with a free account at Logmein.com and you have remote access to computers with the ability to send and receive files.

Yes! Their free 2GB accounts are already huge. And when your friends and family signup for their own free account through your referral link, Dropbox rewards you with additional free storage space (250MB per referral up to a total of 8GB).
You can find your referral link by logging into your Dropbox account (in a browser) and look for the “Get Extra Space Free” link at the bottom of the left-hand column menu.
