I usually don’t make New Year’s resolutions because I find that they are easily ignored. On the other hand, throughout the year I do set new goals and try to improve my behavior bit by bit for the better.
For example, I recently committed to handling at least five pieces a paper a day from my inboxes, in an effort to keep all my stuff current. “I am on top of stuff. Stuff is not on top of me!”

I prefer to think of these as daily aspirations as opposed to annual resolutions.
Some days are met with great success, other days… not so much. 😉
Don’t wait for time. Make it.
Don’t wait for love. Feel it.
Don’t wait for money. Earn it.
Don’t wait for the path. Find it.
Don’t wait for opportunity. Create it.
Don’t go for less. Get the best.
Don’t compare. Be unique.
Don’t fight your misfortune. Transform it.
Don’t avoid failure. Use it.
Don’t dwell on mistake. Learn from it.
Don’t back down. Go around.
Don’t close your eyes. Open your mind.
Don’t run for life. Embrace it.

I only think about it to be a better Mom each year for my sons. I have lost about 70lbs this year and want to lose another 40……
I resolve to meet with one of my college friends at least once each school term! We always gab on the phone-when we actually catch each other at home-for an hour and say we’ll get together soon. We’re both teachers, so once a term is more specific and less restrictive than “we have to…”!
I resolve to work out at least twice a week.
I resolve to lose 30 pounds in 2009.
