When questioned as to my occupation, my husband Howard usually answers “syndicated columnist.” That’s a good answer, because it is something that almost everyone can understand. The truth, however, is that my weekly newspaper column is just a small part of my publishing business, which includes this newsletter, several websites, several ebooks, a membership site (the Surfnetkids Printables Club) and a couple of blogs.
And, as my newsletter readers know, I often “blog” about my family. Howard, I guess, never knew that. Because it was just a few days ago when he discovered that what I call the Surfnetkids Journal contains lots of stories about us … the real life us. He enjoyed reading them, but what struck him most was the responses posted by you, my dear readers. Posts of support when our dog died, when I had a hysterectomy, when our son was “lost” in the New York blackout, and so on.
So… from my desk to yours.. thank you. Thank you for making this a two-way conversation… not simply a broadcast.
