Do you follow me on Twitter? A few years ago I stopped tweeting about Surfnetkids resources for calendar events, but I am going to start again. Yay!
The Surfnetkids Calendar includes both the obvious (Martin Luther King Day: Jan 16, 2012 http://bjf.me/xKchG1) and the obscure (Nellie Bly Returns From Her 72-day Trip Around the World: Jan 25, 1890 http://bjf.me/ABiIBJ).
But I have a question. Should I tweet all the events in the Surfnetkids Calendar? That might be 2 or 3 a day. Or should I limit myself to 5 or 7 per week? Your thoughts, please! I wonder how many tweets is too many?

I personally wouldn’t do much more than one tweet every day. Beyond that, unless you’re running a news service, I can’ t imagine the tweets being very original

It should be maximum of 3 tweets a day. I am not really into tweeting things but I guess it’s not really good to tweet a lot. But it is a great way for socializing and connection with other people.

I am OK with the concept one tweet every day/every second day. That way you keep up the attention of your followers and still wont be too annoying. This is what I am doing for more than 2 years and it worked for me all the time.

I follow several accounts that I find interesting like news, food, humor, a few celebrities and such. I have a number of actual friends (some real life, some online) that I have added to a private list.

Twitting a week would be fine Barbara. I think that’s enough time to people will read your tweets. What is important is that they follow you, isn’t it?

Thanks Louise! I decided to tweet all the calendar events. The end result, however, is that about 90% of the events actually get ever do get tweeted, because sometimes the fail whale gets in the way. But 90% is good enough, and readers are clicking on the links, so I take that as good sign!

Hi Barbara! So nice to “finally” meet you. I’ve have been accessing your SurfNetKids Calendar for what seems like ages. (Is it possible since the late 90s?) It’s been fabulous!!! I was indeed surprise to click on a stored link to “land” on the new updated site. It looks GREAT and as usual is filled with wonderful resources. Thank you for that.
As for twitter, I too “announce” celebrations for the month/day and it has been not only fun but quite enjoyable. People seem really surprised to discover a new day to celebrate. (my tweets are usually food related:) I’m going to hop right over to twitter now and hit follow! Thank you so much for sharing the wealth of information and links as you do:) Louise
