“Ox” is “Niu” in Chinese.
As for “Gung Hay Fat Choy” ,hehe, I didn’t recognise it at first sight, because it sounds like Cantonese(one of the dialects in China) but not Mandarin. If you say “GOng hay Fa ([fa:]) ChAI” (in fact it should be “gong xi fa cai” in standard Chinese, but I guess maybe it’s difficult for you to read)
It means ” wish you would earn a lot of money” , so we often say it to adults.It’s really a good wish.And it would be better to wish children to improve their study.
